The 2010s: Nebraska football’s all-decade team has lacked the success of previous periods – The Athletic

LINCOLN, Neb. — Nebraska is one defeat from securing its fourth losing season out of the past five. Its fourth losing season of this decade.

In the 48 years prior to these 2010s, the Huskers endured two losing seasons.

So to describe the past 10 years of Nebraska football as a down period or a difficult time for the school and its fans, well, it feels like a gross understatement. The Huskers are 75-53 since 2010 under three coaches in two conferences. The back half of the decade has brought the darkest period for the program since Bill Jennings coached the Huskers from 1957 to 1961.

And even Jennings snapped Oklahoma’s 74-game conference winning streak. No such bright moment exists for Nebraska in the past 10 years.
