Two Nebraska football players are facing a 2 1/2-year ban from the university for violating the school’s sexual misconduct policies, according to a report from ESPN.
Paula Lavigne of ESPN reported that redshirt freshman wide receiver Andre Hunt and tight end Katerian LeGrone are facing a 2 1/2-year ban from the school after an incident that allegedly occurred in August. The two were indefinitely suspended from all team activities on Aug. 26, the day after the incident was reported.
Hunt and LeGrone did not play for the Huskers at all in 2019.
ESPN reported that the “greater weight of the evidence” supported that the two men “engaged in sexual assault and sexual harassment, in violation of university sexual misconduct policies” in an incident that occurred on Aug. 25 at off-campus apartments.
The two will have seven business days from Dec. 4 to file an appeal. If they do not, the suspension will be final. Both players remain indefinitely suspended by the football team.
LeGrone’s attorney said his client “maintains his innocence” and Hunt’s attorney had not been notified of the results, and therefore did not provide comment.
