Nebraska Football should be well represented at the Shrine Bowl.
With the Nebraska Football season coming to a close, the postseason accolades have begun to trickle in. For three Nebraska football seniors, they have been invited to the Shrine Bowl. Defensive ends Khalil and Carlos Davis as well as cornerback Lamar Jackson are going to the game, slated for the middle of January.
Khalil played in 36 games in his Nebraska Football career. His best season was this year, as he recorded 44 tackles and eight sacks as well as a pass deflection in 11 games played. Carlos played in 46 games for Nebraska Football. His best season came in 2017. He recorded 42 tackles that year in addition to 3.5 sacks. This season, he played in 11 games, recording 32 tackles and four sacks. In addition, he forced a fumble.
Jackson was able to have a tremendous final year. He served as the unquestioned leader of the secondary, in his statistics showed it. After what was a rough season for him in 2018, he managed to put it all together this year. He played in 12 games this year, recording 40 total tackles. Notching three interceptions, he also recorded a sack on the year. His 12 passes defended were the most in the Big Ten. His interceptions were second overall in the Big Ten.
