The Nebraska Football freshman came up big on Saturday.
Nebraska Football was able to record a big 56-7 win over Maryland on Saturday. Many players contributed to the solid win. However, one player in particular stood out. Freshman Luke McCaffrey had a big day, and helped propel Nebraska to victory.
The quarterback was not just a quarterback on Saturday. He did a little bit of everything. He completed three passes for 32 yards, rushed 10 times for 83 yards and a touchdown, and caught a pass for 12 yards. I particularly liked the pass. That’s not something you see out of a quarterback every day.

Perhaps more impressive than his statistics, he gave Nebraska Football fans a glimpse of what they may see in the future. I saw a guy that could do it all, and was not afraid to be involved in the play. He showed confidence, quickness in his decision-making, and the ability to impact the game in any position he was in.
On a team struggling with overall depth, the fact that McCaffrey showed versatility was great to see. He still has a lot to learn as a freshman, but there is no doubt that the potential is there. Whether or not he will be a quarterback in the future remains to be seen. There will be a lot of interesting decisions to be made within the program in the coming months. I would hate to
