WHITING, Ind. — Three Bloomington pitchers held Northwest Indiana to two hits and the Bobcats scored a run in the eighth inning to defeat the Oilmen, 2-1, Saturday night and win the Midwest Collegiate League championship.
Jake Marti singled with two outs in the eighth and scored on an error as the Bobcats won the best-of-3 series two games to none.

Will Jackson pitched 5 2/3 innings, JD Theile 1 1/3 innings and Joey Byers two innings for Bloomington. Theile got the win and Byers earned the save. The three combined for six strikeouts and allowed no earned runs.
Bloomington had five hits, with Austin Biehl collecting two and scoring a run.
