Nebraska seniors Lamar Jackson and Khalil Davis earned All-Big Ten honors today. Jackson, a senior cornerback, made the second team, while Davis, a senior defensive lineman made third team.
Jackson had a career season in his last year with 40 tackles, 15 passes defended, 12 pass break-ups, three interceptions, four tackles for loss, a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. He lead the Big Ten this season in pass break-ups and passes defended, and was 15th and 13th nationally in both categories, respectively. He ends his career 10th in Nebraska history in pass breakups.
Nebraska’s pass defense finished this season allowing 200.8 yards per game, the lowest total our beloved Huskers have given up since 2012. Nebraska’s pass defense finished 35th nationally, and 7th in the Big Ten.
Davis was All-Big Ten Honorable Mention last season from the media. He finished 2019 with 45 tackles, and led the defense with 8 sacks and 12 tackles for loss. This despite missing a game due to a Big Ten suspension.
Darrion Daniels was selected by the coaches as Honorable Mention.
Mohamed Barry, Dicaprio Bootle, Khalil Davis, Cam Taylor-Britt were selected Honorable Mention by the media.
The All-Big Ten Offensive Team will be named on Wednesday.
